Compassionate Cultivation Releases Texas’ First Oral Spray CBD Formulation To Mark One Year Anniversary
Easy-to-Use “Lone Star Spray” Represents Another First for the Leading Medical Cannabis Provider in Texas
AUSTIN, Texas—Feb. 11, 2019—Continuing its record of innovation in the service of medical cannabis patients, leading Texas medical cannabis provider Compassionate Cultivation has introduced a new product: Lone Star Spray, an oral spray formulation of cannabidiol (CBD) medicine.
This new spray formulation, a first in the state of Texas, has a number of compelling features of interest to patients and their caregivers, including:
- Enhanced absorption & ease of delivery especially in patients who can’t hold the medication under their tongue or in the cheek pouch long enough to allow mucosal absorption.;
- Consistent dose delivery, especially for substitute caregivers;
- Light, portable, easy-to-use package.
Patients seeking more reliable and easier delivery & decreased risk of spillage have reported that is much easier to administer to younger children.
“Focus group results indicated that a spray would be preferred for patients who have unique physical constraints such as gastronomy tubes,” CEO Morris Denton said. “In addition to making the administration of medicine easier for caregivers, we think this portable, easy-to-use product will be particularly helpful for people who are in transit or are looking for improved bioavailability and faster absorption rates”
Lone Star Spray is available in 15mL and 30mL sizes and one flavor: peppermint. The product will be priced consistent with the company’s highly-successful tincture offering.
“Lone Star Spray is another example of our commitment to leadership in this increasingly important new industry,” Mr. Denton said. “We are dedicated to providing the best CBD medicines in the state of Texas, and this new product is just another example of that commitment.”
Compassionate Cultivation made Texas history on Feb. 8, 2018, as the first legal retail dispensary to open its doors to patients. In the past year, the company has achieved a number of milestones:
- Enabling life-changing results to hundreds of epilepsy patients, with more than 50 percent of customers reporting a reduction in seizures;
- Cultivating 20-out-of-20 successful harvests;
- Serving more than 75 percent of all patients in the Texas Compassionate Use Program; and
- Creating the first proprietary medical cannabis strain in Texas, called Waterloo.
Current Texas law allows qualifying patients with intractable epilepsy to purchase low-THC, high-CBD medical cannabis products with a doctor’s prescription. A growing body of scientific research suggests the non-intoxicating cannabis compound CBD could provide relief for a number of neurological conditions, including epilepsy, spasticity related to multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy, and more.
Compassionate Cultivation is one of just three state-licensed companies that grow cannabis locally and manufacture CBD medicines that are lab tested for purity, quality and safety.
